Vittra
A downloadable game
In the old days, your people lived side by side with the humans. In the winters, your cattle would wander their fields, and in the summer, you would burrow deep in under their houses and crypts and wait for dimmer days. Your home, Vittraby, was a pleasant and quiet realm that echoed the human world. Along with Råskogen, the forest-home of the seers, and the vätterborgar where your little cousins lived, and the tomb-city of the draugr, it made up the otherground.
Now, however, times have changed. Their fields are walked by rolling machines, whose shape your cattle have adapted, and their houses are stacked sky-high. Vittraby is more crowded than ever, as so many have been chased out of their homes and forced to live here year-round. Their burrows have been dug up by the humans, and the land they once cared for has been bitterly poisoned. The otherground is littered with the garbage of a thousand years.
Some of you have decided to look for a better life elsewhere. You don’t look too different from the humans, after all. As long as you can dress the part, and keep your tail hidden, you should be able to blend in with them just fine.
VITTRA is a modern interpretation of Nordic folklore, following the eponymous human-like creatures having to adjust to modern human life. You have fled to the human cities to live among them, perhaps as an act of rebellion, or simply to live somewhere else for a time.
