Gratitude, Transparency, and Playtesting

First off... wow. Thank you so much to everyone who has been checking out the game. I didn't expect this level of response (even on Creator Day) but y'all have gone above and beyond in showing your support. From the bottom of my heart, I'm very grateful.

As I've mentioned on the page, the game is in open development at the moment, and as you've probably seen if you've been able to dig into it, there's a lot of stuff in there that could use a bit of fixing-up. The current priority plan is as follows:

  • Consistency. A lot of the game's different parts were worked on over a longer period of time, being written at different points in development, where some of the systems surrounding them were in earlier versions. I want to make sure that everything makes sense with what's currently there.
  • A section on running the game. Most of what has been written out now addresses the game from a player's perspective, which sadly means that the person who runs the game is left a bit unsupported at the moment. I want to address this in two ways.
    • Flesh out the starting adventure. The Dragon Road is meant to showcase as much of the game's mechanics as possible, and I want to provide more concrete opportunities to do so.
    • More actual rules for it. This will include a section on communicating and establishing the tone of the setting, how to construct fair challenges, how to manage characters, and so on.
  • Sample characters. This is something I wanted to do prior to release, but time and energy got the better of me. Expect an example party suitable for diving into The Dragon Road with in the next update.

This is my perspective at the moment, but I want to open this up to y'all as well. To that end, I'm opening up playtesting for the game! If you want to playtest the game, reach out to me and I can get you a copy, no charge.

That's everything from me for now. Take care, and happy gaming!
